Silent Servant

Juan Mendez who records as Silent Servant, is an American DJ and producer. Born in Guatemala, but raised in Westminster CA where he grew up listening to The Smiths, The Cure, New Order, My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth. Exposed to electronic music through the Los Angeles rave scene he began djing at the age of 16. With over 28 years of DJ experience under his belt, the now NTS radio resident, touring Dj and full time creative has come to specialize in mutant sounds that cover post punk, industrial wave and techno. His latest record is out now on L.I.E.S. Records or previous albums can be found on Hospital Productions.

“This mix of synth punk, techno electro and wave music was put together specially for OBEY. It is a mix I have been wanting to compile for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. A mixture of true mutant sounds.

Current Groups such as Modern Ruin, Cardinal & Nun, Unhuman + Petra Flurr, ELECTRONOME, Death Domain, Le Chocolat Noir and special Collaboration I did with Stephan Malinder from Cabaret Voltaire.

Classic bands Like Second Layer, Suicide, The Screamers, Minisrty, DAF. and Throbbing Gristle were also included. I hope you enjoy”
