Rob Roche is active in the punk scene based in Nantes, known for tirelessly creating flyers for punk shows and everything that surrounds them. His graphic work—raw, intuitive, and unapologetically DIY—moves between analog and digital, blending collage, image reappropriation, and illustration. When he's not distorting typographic norms or drawing weird shit, he's running the hobby tape label Urticaria, organizing shows with his local crew Damaged Good, or making noise in bands like Precipice and Ants. Damaged Good is a small DIY collective organizing concerts in Nantes. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Dutch hip-hop surrealists De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. We've been fans since their first hit song Watskebeurt in 2005, and we're proud to be their official merchandise partner for this milestone year.To kick off the collaboration, we're launching a special collection designed by the renowned independent graphic design studio, Experimental Jetset. Last Thursday, Subliminal Projects hosted the launch event and book signing of Glen E. Friedman’s latest book, FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS, featuring iconic photographs of the Bad Brains from 1981 and 1982. This season, we collaborated with Oakland-raised, Los Angeles-based multimedia artist Elan Watson. We looked to Elan's lens to blend his skills in photography and videography to capture the feel of Northeast and Downtown Los Angeles during this time of year. His photos and style were meant to compliment the collection with their colors and textures. The collection itself leans into soft, worn-in silhouettes, sun-faded brights, and warm neutrals. He uses his unique way of looking at the world in every aspect of his work, turning overlooked environmental elements into applications, driven by a fascination with cyclical renewal.His approach to life—finding new perspectives—has evolved into a permanent journey, constantly producing new projects.For this exhibition, Dima collaborated with Tim Sommerfeld, Tilman Haseloff, and Robert Wortmann on a special sculpture made from brass, porcelain, and plastic.“The lamp is a tribute to light. Its luminosity is transmitted into the ground—so intensely that it draws the lampshade downward.This gesture resembles a bow: a quiet sign of reverence for its own source.”ALENA YARISH Born in Crimea, Ukraine, Alena grew up immersed in the untouched beauty of nature. Deeply passionate about painting and drawing from a young age, she completed her studies at an art school in Crimea. After the occupation of the region, Alena moved to Kyiv, where she spent much of her time creating self-portraits — a way of connecting with herself during a period of loneliness and uncertainty.In search of a new beginning, she eventually relocated to Berlin.“The following three years were marked by profound pain and disorientation, as I grappled with a sense of loss and a search for identity. During this time, my work began to reflect the surreal nature of my dreams, as reality no longer offered the solace I once sought.”

Six Parisian artists get inspired from the city and it's playful architectures to create works for this new show. The theme explores a variety of subjects: childhood memories, urban exploration, play and liberty, in a vibrant and colourful aesthetic. Félicie Vitrai blends technology and imagination, using augmented reality, virtual reality, and digital photomontage to create immersive, playful experiences that blur the line between real and make-believe. Her new paintings feature 3D-printed frames.Thami Nabil (aka Recso Verto) is a Paris-based artist working in video animation. His work distorts time and space, layering movement and sound to create hypnotic visual narratives. For this special occasion Recso will be printing on plexi-glass. Mario Picardo draws inspiration from the urban landscape, layering color and form through airbrush techniques. His work often incorporates pop culture and comic book elements, transforming city life into something vibrant and surreal. Emile Degorce Dumas creates sculptures and installations that blend animist traditions with contemporary Western aesthetics. His works have a dreamlike yet unsettling presence, drawing on absurdity and contradiction to evoke both attraction and discomfort.Clara Cimelli creates highly textured, hyper-saturated works on machine paper—somewhere between dream and nightmare. Her compositions carry a raw energy, merging chaotic, almost violent imagery with exaggerated theatricality. James Dosa, a Paris-based painter, draws from video games, manga, and cartoons to explore the idea of a shared visual language.  For our Spring 25 collection, we collaborated with a talented team, including Amsterdam-based photographer Mette Krah.  Driven by a passion for analogue photography, Mette develops and prints her film work in her own darkroom. Her versatility spans from press shoots to documenting punk bands in concert, bringing a refined touch to gritty settings. With a talent for enhancing contrasts and foreground details, this project marked her first editorial for a fashion label.For this campaign Mette chose to place the collection in a metropolitan setting, juxtaposing the delicate textures and tones of the cut-and-sew with a grittier, perhaps cinematic surrounding. She wanted to showcase the brink of Spring underneath a veil of mystique – bolstered by the unconventional forms of the Belgian backdrops.  The talent that Mette shot in Brussels brought their vibrant energy from the music and skate industries. Mauro Ruberto is an avid skater and a close friend of ours. He has an energetic personality with a deep love for nature and music. Zoe Saidah is an Amsterdam-based DJ with London roots. Performing under the alias SAIDAH, she takes inspiration from the birthplace of garage, where high energy and four to the floor beats take center stage. Zoe aims to open up the UK scene to new audiences with a fresh sound and perspective.  Logan Sharma, a treasured member of our team brought the video to life. Logan brings together his dual passions for filming and skating, combining creativity with dynamic energy. Along with managing the OBEY European website, he’s also deeply involved in skating and creating content for Blobstacle, showcasing his commitment to the skate culture and community.   The music was done by Laurou, a Swiss-Finnish sound artist whose intricate sound design creates interpretative, whimsical spaces. Her practice explores the vastness of virtuality, morphing organic sounds into sculpted microtextural worlds. From Nov 6 to Nov 12, the OBEY Art Space in Paris hosted BOOK, an event imagined by artist @victorunwin , Parisian bookshop @cahiercentral , and independent publisher @kermesse.cool timed with the creative energy in the city during Off Print Art Book Fair and Paris Photo.For six days, the whole art space presented a wide array of books, zines, vintage rarities, and artist editions selected by Victor Unwin. ‘FREE TEKNO’ is a new project by Klasse Wrecks and Obey Clothing, inspired by the aesthetics and sounds of the free party scene that followed the demise of the Acid House explosion. This countercultural phenomenon transformed remote countryside locations across the UK and mainland Europe, bringing together anarchic youth subcultures driven by beats from Techno producers during the mid to late 1990s and early 2000s.For the collection’s photo editorial, the duo of label bosses Luca Lozano and Mr. Ho took a trip to the Peak District in Yorkshire and visited Surprise View, which previously had been a site of free parties. The ghostly images of Photographer James Winstanley capture the pair of artists in search of a party, a moment of solace or the way home.The capsule includes rave staples like hoodies, long sleeve shirts, tshirts and a patterned trouser as well as accessories like slipmats designed by Klasse Wrecks house designer PLANETLUKE.COM and produced by Obey Clothing. The drop is accompanied by a brand new EP by Luca Lozano and Mr. Ho who create their take on the sound of the free parties with their signature style.The FREE TEKNO Collection is available now on line and in stores. Last Thursday, we celebrated the opening of our very first exhibition at OBEY Art Space in Paris. We are proud of the talented artists involved and want to take a moment to introduce them more personally. In a short interview, we had the pleasure of speaking with Heather Benjamin, Christopher "Lazygawd" Green, and Melchior Tersen. You can visit the exhibition, which will be on display until October 31st. Can you tell us who you are and where you are?My name is Melchior. I'm 37 and come from the Paris suburbs. I started making art 20 years ago. What's the most random or bizarre hobby you've taken up recently?Cooking, shopping for food and trying to eat better. And enjoying it. It may sound strange, but it's something new in my life. Learning to take care of myself. If you listen to music while working, what genre or who?I go from electro to black metal, hip-hop, classical music or dance or ambient music or chanson. I like what makes me vibrate and gives me sensations. This can be through words, intonation, orchestration or musical production. I like melody, variation and repetition, violence and dancing, melancholy and galvanising, exciting and soothing. What emotion or message do you hope people will feel when they look at your work?It depends on which proposition. I try to let each person experience and see things in their own way. Over the last few years, my artistic approach has changed a lot and what I propose is quite full of personal upheaval. If this can help some people find answers to their inner questions, that would be great. Everyone's struggling. What advice would you give to an emerging artist who might be inspired by you?First of all, I'd say that the inspiration phase is only the introduction to artistic development. That you have to learn to believe in yourself, accept change and trust yourself. And that being an artist is a total process that involves jumping into water where you have no foothold. I'm discovering this myself as the years go by. Can you tell us who you are and where you are?My name is Heather Benjamin, I'm an artist based in Brooklyn, New York. If your art could talk, what do you think it would say about you as the creator?They'd probably spill something embarrassing, like how much I talk to myself in the studio while I'm alone. What’s the most random or weird hobby you’ve picked up recently?Obsessively cleaning my house late at night right before going to bed. I don't know if it's that weird of a thing to do, but it's weird in the trajectory of my life, because I used to be an extremely messy person, and it feels like this came out of nowhere. If you could collaborate with any artist (any genre) living or dead, who would it be and what would you create together?I would assemble a dream team to collaborate with on an animated TV series or film using my girls - maybe like, Naoko Takeuchi, Paul Reubens, Christy Karacas, Charlie Kaufman.. I'm a huge fan of them all; in my insane fantasy, all these people would care about collaborating around my artwork, haha. What’s the one emotion or message you hope people feel when they look at your work?There isn't one emotion or message I'm aiming to make people feel. I'm actually not aiming to make anyone feel anything through making my work, it's much more for myself. But of course it makes me happy when people do feel moved by it, in pretty much any direction, even if people are totally disgusted. What advice would you share with any other emerging artist that might be inspired by you?Just keep making the work, and don't get caught up in how anyone tells you things should be done. If you listen to music while working, which kind or who?This always varies and I'm all over the place, it depends on the day and what I'm working on. But recently I have been listening to a lot of Omar Souleyman. Can you tell us who you are and where you are?My name is Christopher, I live in Paris and always did, genuinely be a fan of pop culture and counter culture in a large way, specially comic books/ mangas and cartoons, they had the most impact in my creativity and guided my imagination since my childhood so that’s it. If you could collaborate with any artist (any genre) living or dead, who would it be and what would you create together?I would have collaborate with Akira Toriyama of course, Fredo Santana and would still love to meet Tyler the Creator, Todd Mc Farlane and Mylène Farmer for music or clip videos I don’t know what would put us together. If you listen to music while working, which kind or who?For a decade (15 years) I been on underground US rap from Memphis/Miami/Atlanta for exemple or Death metal, hardcore punk mostly a lot of cinematic orchestrals like Danny Elfman or Hans Zimmer and the Dungeon Synth lore I discovered in the Black Metal scene. What’s the one emotion or message you hope people feel when they look at your work?Melancholia is the emotion that drives me the most not always on a sad way though. What advice would you share with any other emerging artist that might be inspired by you?My advice to people is be stubborn. If you really (want to) know yourself and what you want to achieve, be respectful and listen/ ask advices it’s as much important, but do you.
